Your Therapist

I'm Rachel Childers

Your therapist and mental health advocate

Hello, I'm Rachel. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in Texas. My journey to becoming a mental health provider developed earlier in my childhood. I come from a family where I saw my parents in their ministry helping others that were going through challenges. They would sit and counsel with them to provide hope in their circumstances. My experience influenced the direction I took later in life. After pursuing a degree in school counseling and mental health, I started working in a variety of clinical settings including schools and private practice. I began to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of individualized care for each person. This has allowed me to create a safe space for clients in navigating their own mental health journeys.

I have over a decade of experience working with adolescents and families. My most recent endeavor is working with moms in the perinatal stage as a virtual facilitator. I utilize CBT, SFBT, and Trauma therapy techniques, to help my clients that may suffer from depression, anxiety, grief, trauma and those adjusting to the daily challenges of life. I help my clients learn how to teach their body how to get to a calm state, so they are able to truly process and move forward.

My Approach

How I can Help

Our first meeting together will be an introductory session, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable, while also feeling secure. From there, we’ll work together in the sessions that follow to make these goals a reality for you.

My therapeutic relationship will include a warm, empathetic treatment approach where the focus is on meeting you where you are and working to have a clear understanding of your goals and ambitions. Together we will explore what's behind the challenges in your life, while becoming self-aware and learning skills that nurture and benefit your life.
